This is a review about a book called 11 Birthdays, it is a fictional story by Wendy Mass.
It’s a present day book and takes place in Willow Falls. Amanda Ellerby has lived there her whole life. It’s a small town that reminds me of my hometown, South Pasadena, (not a very busy town). It has a mall and an iHop.
The main character is Amanda Ellerby. She loves drumming and carries drumsticks everywhere. She is the youngest child, and is very stubborn, and selfish. Throughout the book, she learns to think about others and not just herself. Amanda had a friend named Leo Fitzpatrick. They share their birthdays, and have had their birthday parties together every year since they were one. On their tenth birthday, they got into an argument because Leo made fun of Amanda. Ever since then, they haven’t been speaking to each other.
Amanda and Leo’s 11th birthday is coming up and they won’t be having their parties together for the first time. They each had their parties seperately, and the next morning, their day would repeat. The previous day would repeat over and over again, and they continued to have their parties separately, until they start talking to each other about what is happening, and they become friends. After they became friends again something strange happens the next morning.
I found the book interesting because I didn’t know what would happen next. It was an easy book and it was exciting to read. I would highly recommend it to young girls who like girly-fiction books. After 11 Birthdays, I went and got the next book, 12 Finally. Check back soon for my review of 12 Finally!
